2020.09.19 04:19 fcatthepanerabread A week in your favorite firearm dealer's not-so erotic life *or* FC's tale of two grandmas! 9/18/2020

Friday 9/11/2020 to Friday 9/18/2020
I won't do the play by play. It's more fun to just amalgamate the highlight reel of the week.
Emails!
Subject: Sig P226
Message: Will trade for RAS-47?
FC: Sure. What do you propose?
I have a century arms RAS47 that has 30 total rounds through it. Magpul furnishing blk on blk.
FC: Right, you told me that earlier. Shipped or picked up? What value do you put on your trade?
Meet in person I’m in Lafayette. Value 900-1000.
FC: Okay, so I'm supposed to give you asking price for what reason? I have to resell that gun, so I'm supposed to buy it from you for $900 and sell it again for $800?
I was looking for a straight trade so you’d only have to sell it for what your asking for the Sig, or more if you're good at your job. AK's are definitely a hotter demand item right now. I’d prefer if you could text me (number)
(Editors note: FC does not text. Only drug dealers do business via text message.)
FC: Let me get this right. You want a straight trade so I only have to sell it for what I'm asking for the Sig. I have to do the work of selling two guns so I can make the same money?
You can sell an AK for more then the Sig in the current market. I’m just stating how easy it is for you to break even worse case scenario.
FC: There's a lot of gun guys in the breaking even business. I'm not one of them. Plus, if it's so easy to sell an AK, why don't you sell it and bring me cash?
It’s a trade so your only selling one anyways. Plus all will sell a lot faster... I’m not a dealer I don’t have people walking in looking for guns. Whatever easy sale and flip for ya but your loss bud
FC: Selling an Sig 9mm plus selling an AK is two guns. You must have gotten that common core math. I'll tell you what. You think it will sell fast? Bring it over here and leave it with me. I'll tag it and put it out at $1200 and when it sells, I'll have a 226 ready for you.
(No response)
Subject: Sig P220 on Gunbroker
Message: your ad says $1200 with CCL. arkansas ccl is reciprical with louisiana will you honor that?
FC: Picking up in person? No. Reciprocal for carry not for anything else like NICS exemption.
are you a federal firearms dealer ?
FC: No I am not.
(Editors note: I'm a manufacturer)
if i can l can legally hold own and carry any firearm concealed on my body or in my vehicle , then the rest is just cash exchange between to citizens , i can legally have own and carry the p938 , there is nothing not legal , we cN do a orivate bill of sale photograph my dl and ccl incase soneonencommits a crime , i can have a truck full of guns all legal, i just have to do the background check again to be able to pick up at an ffl , nit requred to register or anything like that
(Editors note: I delete the message)
Subject: Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS $775
Message: Is that price for real?
FC: No, that's wrong. I'll fix it right now.
(I change it to $875 on the website)
LOL o shit he raised it another $100, sorry man that petty ass shit doesn’t bother me. Honestly it just makes u look like a fucking joke. You’re the problem with dealers, it’s hard to find glocks this month so let’s jack the price up $300 and try to rob someone that doesn’t know shit about guns. Adam Kennedy FF/PM (name of his fire department and department phone number, sent from his department email)
(I google his name and email. He's got a low serial number HK Mark 23 for sale for top dollar.)
FC: I sold 10 at the gun shows for top dollar, this is my last one. Nobody's getting stock. If you want a $625-650 gun, I've got plenty of those but Glocks are selling for top dollar and then some right now. For instance, if you had a low serial number Mark 23 with everything that nobody could get - wouldn't you want top dollar for it too?
I had a mk23 preban with original woodland operators bag, and original Wilcox attachments (well all but the IR) and I put it on the forums. I let people out bid themselves not post it for an absurd amount/hundreds above MSRP just because they are hard to find. The point is I’ve been in guns since around 2012, met some really genuine people and what sets that site apart is people seem to have a mutual respect for each other. I understand that you have a business and have to make a profit but if you can’t separate the two and not price gouge the absolute fuck out of very common items just because you feel you can. Then maybe that site isn’t the best place for you, 95% of the people on that site are individuals and when a business comes along and does that it’s a slap in the face.
FC: So, you accept that you want top dollar because your merchandise is hard to find and are willing to accept the fact that the harder something is to find - the more people are willing to pay for it. You do it, and it's okay. I do it and I'm trying to rob someone? That's called moving the goalposts where I come from. Like it or don't like it, check gunbroker and all the other dealers - everyone's getting top dollar. I just did a show last week where I was $975 on Gen 5 19's, $775 on 43X's and $700+ on all gen 3 guns. The dealer across the aisle from me had Gen 5 34's at $1000. We're in business to make money, and people are willing to pay these prices because they're so hard to find.
How do I accept that?? When I sold the mk23 I posted it for a set very fair price, people offered me more because they wanted it. And top dollar would be MSRP or close to, top dollar is NOT hundreds above MSRP. Let me ask you this, does Glock charge you more (the dealer) because they are selling a shit load of them and they are “hard to find??” Does what you pay for glocks as a FFL change as drastically as the prices you are charging based off the market?
FC: You wanted, and got as much money for your rare hard to find product as you could? That's called getting top dollar! The new ford bronco is going to sell for above MSRP. For THOUSANDS more. are you going to call Ford and complain about that? Of course not.H Hundreds above MSRP is what guns are selling for right now. If you had some for sale, are you telling me you'd sell them for hundreds less than you could? I have not gotten a wholesale gun in stock in months, I have been buying guns at retail to resell. Glock does not set prices and distributors have nothing to sell me - so your question is entirely ridiculous. Do you remember the last time around 7 or 8 years ago when Colt 6920's were $2500 and SCAR 17's were $5000? That was nowhere near MSRP and I didn't hear anyone complaining. Since you don't seem to like it at all, I suggest you leave public sector employment and try to run a business and pay the bills with no product coming in wholesale.
(Editors note: FC used to be a public servant. FC used to work in the fire department. FC knows that you can get in deep shit for sending profanity laced emails on city email account with email signature. I forward the email to his department chief with a polite message tactfully reminding him that all emails sent to a city email are preserved as public records.)
Subject: Noveske lower
Message: Would you be willing to do a one for one trade? I have a NIB Anderson lower. I’m specifically looking for one of a few specific brands of lower and Noveske happens to be one.
FC: So I'm supposed to trade you even up and sell an anderson for more money? BTW. CTD got lowers back in this morning. They're andersons and they want $199 for them but I don't think I'm going to be able to get that price.

Phone calls!
A: Guy wants a folding bracestock. I ask him if he wants a brace or a stock. He does not know the difference. I ask him if he's building an SBR. He says he's building an SBR, specifically an SBA3. I die a little inside.
B: Guy calls looking for 100 rds of 38 special for his colt python. Drives up in his tesla and hands me a ritz calrton titanium black card. $75/100 okay? No problem. He asks if I have any more at that price. I tell him as much as he wants.
C: Endless calls for 9mm and 380 ammo.
D: Guy calls me asking for a Glock 43X. He comes in and looks. I tell him $775 as he's holding an Amex. I say I'll do better for cash. $775 out the door. He says deal. Comes back the next week with $575 cash and I look at him funny. I paid $550 for the gun retail but he owns the Chickfila 20 miles up the road and gives me a stack of be our guest chicken sandwich coupons. I begrudgingly accept.
E: Lady calls me she's headed to the range in a few hours. She needs 500 rds of 40S&W and some 380.
Me: I got it. 500 rounds of 40 - $350
1: $350?
Me: $350.
1: No, no no!
Me: Yes, yes, yes.
1: It can't be $350! That's $350! That just can't be!
Me: Welcome to 2020
1: Well the 380 ammo is cheaper right?
Me: Not really. You're looking at $65 a box.
1: No, no no!
Me: Nobody's got ammo right now and we're getting top dollar. That's the price, feel free to shop around.
She never calls me back.
F: Guy calls me asking about my Federal 115gr 9mm. Cheapest on Ammoseek is $57 a box. I don't want to be that high so I price it at $55/box. He says how much for the case. I tell him 55 times 20. He's bad at math so I tell him that's $1100 for it all. He calls me an asshole. I tell him everyone's asking me to get 9mm ammo so I'm buying it retail and marking it up. He tells me not to buy it at retail and hangs up on me.
G: The gun club president calls me. the club needs a new 5.56 upper. I ask why. Someone shot 300 blackout through the old one and destroyed it. I tell them I don't have any uppers. I have complete rifles. Cheapest is $900 for an S&W sport M&P. I can hear his jaw dropping.
There's other miscellany but you get the gist of it.
NOW here's the meat and potatoes you've wanted! The tale of the gun show!
Friday 9/11/2020
I take inventory. I'm down to about 350 guns in stock and I pack as much as I can and get it ready for the show. I've got some Sigs left, a handful of Glock and a mishmash of everything else. I head to bed early knowing full well the next show will be a good one. I bought a bunch of Glock 43X's retail.
Saturday 9/12/2020
I pull chocks at 615AM. This show is about an hour down the road from my house, the last time I was there I sold nothing all weekend, broke my oakleys and vowed never to return.
This time is gonna be different, I said to myself.
At 7AM I walk in and I start loading into the show. It's a small venue in the middle of MAGA country. Everyone wearing red hats and trump train shirts.
In a few hours the doors will open and we are off to the races. I will do hour blocks instead of my previous play by play for simplicity.
9AM: Slow start, the show is spread out across TWO buildings so they route people into the other side and it takes them about 30 minutes to make their way into the big room. First sale of the day is my last Sig 365. For $700. It takes an hour and a half to get his background check back.
10AM: Guy points at an FNS 40C and wants a deal. I make him a deal at $525 cash out the door. He says he'll come back and think about it a bit.
I sell a shield for $500.
I sell a Glock 43X for $775.
I sell a Glock 43 for $700.
For some reason everyone is calling me Daniel. It takes me an hour to realize it's because I'm wearing a gray Daniel Defense polo.
11AM: FNS40 guy is back. He says it's a deal. I hand him a clipboard. he hands me an already filled out 4473 like another dealer rejected his sale. It's folded over on the long side and I tell him to fill out my form in front of me.
10 minutes later he hands me the pre filled out folded form thinking that I'm stupid.
You gotta be shitting me. I park his ass in a chair hand him a pen and tell him to start writing.
He fills it out. I enter in his background check and it does not come back right away. He gets antsy.
12PM: FNS 40 guy wants his money back. I refund it and keep $100 for me. I grab my tablet and someone has swiped right on my bumble. We begin chatting and I ask her if she wants to go to dinner. She's a little older, in her 40's and works for a bank. What the hell, why not.
Someone asks me what it takes to suppress his beretta 92. I tell him he needs a threaded barrel. They run $250. Someone overhears me and brings by his S&W 5906 and expects me to get a threaded barrel for $250.
Guy asks me to bring the threaded barrel tomorrow. I say sure.
1PM: Lady comes by and asks me if I have any 5.7's. She's on the phone reading down my inventory. I ask her if the gun is for her or her friend. She says for her. I show her the 5.7 on the table and roll my eyes a bit.
2PM: 5.7 lady comes by with her butch lesbian lover. She tells me its a deal and I hand her the clipboard. She fills everything out with lots of errors. I get her background check in and I tell her $1375
Her jaw drops. She was looking at the FNS 9mm for $575 next to it and didn't think that 5.7 pistols were $1375. She coughs reeking of weed. I void the sale.
Guy walks up asking me for 70% silencers. I just laugh.
3PM: Another guy comes over asking me if I got a 5.7. I tell him yes. He says he's got $1000 right now for a 5.7. I tell him I'll take $1000 as a down payment. He laughs and is adamant that I take this $1000 for a 5.7 tagged at $1375.
I ask him if he's got cash and all his ID and everything. He's on the phone it's actually for a friend of his. I ask him if his friend can get here before the show closes at 5. His friend has no CWL so his wife has to buy it but he's going to pay for it.
This guy is barking up the wrong tree. I go back and help someone else. He's looking at a Springfield XD I've brought and asks me if I'm making any deals. I tell him we're not doing a lot of discounting at the show. He shrugs and says he tried.
Another guy asks me for a Glock 43X. I walk him over to the stack and show him the tag at $775. He scoffs at me and walks away.
4PM: Show starts slowing down. I write up a Sig P238 Tribal and a P938 BRG for some customers at $700 each. I write up a S&W M&P15 sport for $900 as my last sale of the day. The lady was super nice and understanding when I pointed out the errors on her 4473.
5PM: Time to go home! I dump off some transfers to another dealer and hit the road. It's an hour to get back home.
6PM: I take a shower, shave and get to the restaurant for dinner.
7PM: I'm at the restaurant waiting at the table and I discover that the woman that said she was in her 40's is actually a 58 year old grandma of 2. Someone shoot me. She says she's not that hungry and proceeds to order soup, salad, a martini, an espresso and dessert. She's ordered $65 in F&B to my $35 steak. This was a complete waste of an evening.
My depression worsens and not even a bowl of mint chocolate chip can break me out of this funk. My will to live is eroding by the minute. I fall asleep at midnight and set my alarm for 747AM. I make a mental note to move up my therapist.
Sunday August 16th
747AM. Wake up, take a swig of orange juice and run down to the deli and grab a sandwich and get down to the show. I grab a threaded barrel for a Beretta 92 on my way down. Note: The guy never shows up for that barre.
10AM: Get to the show and uncover my tables and get cranking. It's a slow start to the day. My first sale is a Springfield XD. The show goes on and I write up an FNS for someone. The customer writes the check out payable to HK NO COMPROMISE.
I look at them confused.
FC: Why is this check made out to HK?
1: That's what it says on your shirt, HK NO COMPROMISE - that's the name of your company, right?
FC: sigh
11AM: Guy wants a can without a tax stamp. 5
12PM: Someone walks over. Points at my stack of silencers
1: I can't pick one of those up here!
FC: You got two arms don't you?
1: I mean I can't buy one here!
FC: If you got money you can buy one!
1: You're a real smartass you know that!
FC: Beats being a dumbass!
The peanut gallery laughs at our exchange.
1PM: Guy wants to buy a Walther P22. Fills out the front sheet of the 4473. Satisfied with his answer, he turns the page along the perforation, rips it off and proudly hands the top sheet to me.
I die a little bit inside.
2PM: 7 different husband/wife combos ask me for shield EZ pistols. I write up my last M&P 15 sport I brought to the show for $900. It's a good day! I debated bringing another but I figured selling two for the weekend would be plenty.
3PM: The lady that bought that S&W M&P15 yesterday? She wants another one. I have three left on the shelf. I take her money and tell her I'll meet her at the show next week and she says no problem and does all her paperwork. u/throwawayfire343 's coronavirus infected ass shows up and needles me on a gun.
1: How much do you want for this $150 gun?
FC: About 350
1: really
FC: Gimme $200 and fill the goddamn form right
1: deal!
I take his money and wrap up a few other folks and get ready to pack up and head home. He does the form right much to my chagrin.
4PM: Show is closed. I start packing up. I snag 500 rds of 9mm off the dealer across the show. He started with a full pallet. Most of it is gone. Price? $500/thousand. I am packed up and on the road in a little under an hour.
5PM: Homeward bound........I wish I was........HOMEWARD BOUND..............
I hit the truck stop for some diesel and a cold fountain drink.
630PM: I get back to my desk and dump off a fucking STACK of 4473's. I make a bank drop for the cash and I unload and head back home. I'm starving, I go grocery shopping and grab some comestibles. I cook myself dinner and head home.
Monday September 14th
10AM: My back is out and my depression is worse than ever. I don't know what hurts more, my back or my brain. I head in and get my 4473's worked on from the show.
11AM: Guy asks me to get some 9mm ammo for him held until after work. No problem. He says he'll be here at 445 after he gets out off at 430. He works around the corner.
12PM: Lunchtime. It's Chicken Bacon Ranch day at the market. I'm starving. I grab my keys and get ready to leave when I get a call from a lady from the gun club. She wants one of my last Sig 938's. I tell her to come by, I'll delay lunch for her.
1PM: Laura shows up and spends 45 minutes with me trying to decide on which 938 she wants. She has no intention of shooting this gun she just wants one in case antifa shows up. She leaves and says she will come back in 45 minutes. Great, I can go to lunch now.
2PM: It try to go to lunch. I am not successful. Laura calls me asking me more questions and tells me she has another friend wanting the same gun. I tell her I will put my lunch on hold and she can come on by.
She and her friend debate Sig 938's for a while and each of them buy a gun. I got a twofer! Woo! This calls for a celebration called lunch.
3PM: I get a call from a semi regular. This guy buys a gun or two a year. He's getting his concealed license and does not want the government to know he's buying guns. So he's sending his wife in to do the 4473 for his birthday present, a Wilson CQB 1911 they've purchased off gunbroker. I tell him great, send her over and I'll get her paperwork done. I get ready to go to lunch. The phone rings, Laura and her friend want more of my time. Fine. I will put my lunch on hold. Come on over.
4PM: Laura and her friend come over and Laura suggests that I give each of them a few Sig 938 7 rd pinky extension mags for free since they just bought two guns. I look at them in great pain.
Women. They make the highs higher and the lows more frequent. I'm sorta in a woman hating mood after this week but I don't want to take it out on them. I explain politely that NOBODY is getting free goods right now. if you want mags, I have three left. They spent 25 minutes arguing with me and then they decide to buy all three mags. Great. Terrific. I'm going to lunch now. Your business is appreciated now GTFO. The guy that wanted me to reserve 9mm ammo for him? Yeah he no showed.
5PM: Beef jerky lunch time. I get my keys and get ready to walk out the door. The wife of Wilson Combat buyer is running errands and can be over here. Sure, come on down. I'll be here. She does all her paperwork and we talk for 2 hours about how autistic you all say I am and how not autistic she says I am. Nice lady. She brought me gummy bears. I tell her I am clearly on the spectrum because I behave and think exactly like her autistic son. She fails to believe me.
7PM: I can finally go have lunch! I go to the Olive Garden for lunch.
815PM: I get home from the OG. This is not going well. My colon does not like the pasta and breadsticks. I spend the next hour and a half making three trips to the throne. This fucking week. And it's only sunday. God damn.
I take a tylenol PM and sleep it off.
Tuesday September 15th
10AM: I get in and start catching up on vendor calls and paperwork.
11AM: UPS rolls in with a wilson and some piece of shit suppressor from some company. I call Lisa and tell her that the package is here and she can pick it up anytime. She says she will be right over.
12PM: Lisa gets her gun and thanks me with some things she got at walgreens. Red hots, and pens. I laugh. I tell her it's fine. She's confused. Her autistic son always liked Red Hots and pens.
1PM: I swing over to the deli and it's Monday. They have hot browns today. I love a hot brown. I grab one and check in on facebook telling the world of my discovery. So many great job poopin memes and comments ensue.
2PM: I call the guy who's got the el cheapo 556 can. He's pissed. That can was supposed to be sent to another dealer across town. I tell him his options.
A: I can do his form 4 and charge him my hourly.
B: I can ship it back to the vendor and charge him my hourly.
C: I can ship it to the dealer across town and charge him my hourly.
He's PISSED and tells me to do the forms for him. I tell him email me all the info and I'll get it done. I get an email in GMAIL CONFIDENTIAL MODE.
What's CONFIDENTIAL MODE? It's a self destructing email you can't reply to, forward or cut and paste from - which makes this useless since I have to cut and paste all the info he's given me. I tell him I need the data in a different format. He yells at me about PII and stuff and I offer to do the form 4 in front of him. He relents and emails me what I need. It's missing a birthday. No biggie. I email him a draft and he says it looks lfine.
3PM: The guy comes by and he's pissed at the vendor and takes it out on me. I tell him if he does not want to do the forms from me, I can send it to the dealer across town. He's mad as hell and I've discounted my rate to $100 as a goodwill gesture.
1: You're charging me $100?
FC: Yes
1: But you're not doing anything.
FC: Here's the checklist.
1: The other place did my photos, fingerprints and everything and charged me $100.
FC: Great. I'm not spending $8000 on a fingerprint scanner to make it back $100 at a time.
1: So you're not doing anything.
FC: I did these forms correctly as you asked.
1: But you didn't even do my fingerprints! Or my passport photos! What the hell am I paying you for?
FC: Why'd they send the item here/
1: Hell if I know! You should call them and find out!
FC: You want me to call them?
1: Well you dealers have a special phone number and email. They won't answer my calls or my emails.
FC: What makes you think they're going to answer mine?
1: You're a dealer! You have a special back office phone number to reach them that I don't have, right?
FC: Are you kidding me?
1: No! You all have that special communication system that the public has no access to!
FC: Gimme your $100 and get these forms reviewed, I've got another customer to help in a bit.
1: You mean I gotta mail it out too! The other place did that for me!
FC: You want me to mail it? I'll mail it. Get the prints done, get the photos taken and get the form filled out and I'll mail it.
1: The other place answered all the questions for me!
FC: I. DON'T. CARE.
1: I am really upset about all this you're charging me the same money and you're doing no work!
FC: You want this can?
1: Yeah
FC: Then follow my instructions.
He pulls out three credit cards with damaged magnetic stripes that won't work. I manually key the card and I'm now working for $96.50 dealing with the biggest pain in the ass I've seen since operation machinegun salvage in 2019.
4PM: I have to go to fedex to drop off today's orders. 1000 rds of 22 leave the building for $189.48. A bunch of mags to the west coast and a Sig P220 are leaving.
5PM: Make it to Fedex where I say hi to Cathy and the gang. I swing by the market on the way home and grab some shredded romaine and a thin cut top sirloin.
545PM: Now I told you this story was a tale of TWO grandmas. Here's the second. I get a call from my attorney buddy Eddie, my partner at the consulting company. He got a call from a lady needing help with some ATF Forms. He knew it wasn't his area of expertise and wanted to know if I could do it. I said send the details my way. He tells me it's an older lady and to expect an email. Moments later I get an email from him.
Subject: Forms for Karen Witherspoon
Message: Will, attached is ATF correspondence from ATF to Karen, I think you can fix this. Thanks!
I look at the attachment.
NOTICE OF TAKING DEPOSITION DUCES TECUM - State of Louisiana vs Billy Bob Ray Thibodeaux
FC: Eddie, I got your deposition notice not the ATF forms
Eddie: Whoops
FC: If that's the worst thing that happens this week it's not a bad week.
Eddie: She knows you're charging her I didn't give her a price.
FC: Lemme look at it and see what we got.
6PM: I call Karen and ask her some details. Her husband was a former licensee/SOT and left a machinegun behind when he died. She did ATF Form 5 and got some errors and needs help fixing it. Just as I'm on the phone with her Eddie emails me the packet.
It's bad and riddled with errors. Out of 20 fields that all need to be filled out correctly, 12 are wrong. And not a little wrong. A LOT wrong.
I won't get into it here but I might in a separate post.
ATF wants the forms back at their facility in 30 days. The mailing date was 2 weeks ago. Which means these forms need to be corrected RIGHT THE FUCK NOW and sent out. Oh and she's got no fingerprint cards.
I tell her that I can drop everything I'm doing this evening, go over everything with a fine tooth comb and have this done in a few hours and I can drop them off tomorrow. She says if I can make a house call that would be good since she has furniture movers coming to empty their house in the morning. I tell her no problem. $350 and I'll see her tomorrow.
I run down all the forms and fix everything. I do a public records search and pull court filings for the probate and print them off and enclose them as ATF requested.
$350 for basically an hour's worth of work isn't bad. There's a steak/bottle of wine split for Eddie in there since it was his lead.
8PM: I call Karen back and tell her I've got everything done but ATF needs a copy of the will. She says she has it. I got everything else they asked off the clerk's website. She's super impressed. I tell her there's a reason Eddie called me.
9PM: Time to cook dinner. My phone is about to die. Just as I plug it in I get a call from u/fat_italian_stallion
He NEVER calls me unless something's up.
We had a quick chat over the weekend at the gun show that went something like this
FC: So that's how I got catfished by a grandma on bumble
FIS: LOL that is epic bad. I'm in New Orleans for a week on vacation with the gf
FC: The psycho one?
FIS: You know it.
FC: If you need bail money let me know
FIS: I just might!
That was Sunday morning. It's tuesday night. My phone dies as I try talking to him. I switch to my landline and call him.
FC: What up?
FIS: I need a solid
FC: How bad is it this time?
FIS: Can I sleep at your house tonight? She went nuts again and attacked me.
FC: I told you not to get invovled with her didn't I?
FIS: She's hot!
FC: You know I'm like 3 hours away from you right?
FIS: Yeah I got a half tank of gas.
FC: Go fill it, here's the address. See you around midnight. You hungry?
FIS: Starving.
FC: I was getting ready to fix dinner. I'll see you at midnight. Get here when you get here.
9PM-1145PM: I fix up the guest suite and prepare dinner. I run to the Target near my house since they close at 10 and grab a few more things. I get back just before 10 and I prepare to fire up the grill and get a steak going, salad and a fresh ravioli dish drowned in Rao's tomato basil sauce is on the menu. Steak hits the fire at 1130 and is resting by 1145. I plate everything and have it on the table at midnight.
1145PM: I get some spare towels and hotel soaps and shampoos. I head out to the driveway and turn on all my lights and leave the garage door open. I set a lawn chair up and crack open a large bag of boom chicka pop poprcorn and await the arrival of one u/fat_italian_stallion
1204AM: u/fat_italian_stallion rolls up. I've got guns and roses "Used to love her" playing on the ipad
FC: sup?
FIS: Long day.
FC: Dinner's on the table. Lets eat.
Wednesday September 16th
We eat and go to sleep. fat_italian_stallion does not know I have slid my spare ipad into the guest suite on the nightstand.
Did you know you can set an alarm on an ipad to instead of making a noise to play a song?
757AM: The ipad alarm wakes up fat_italian_stallion. The song? A little band called Confederate Railroad blasting "I like my women a little on the trashy side." He'll have to tell you the rest of the story.
9AM: I chat with fat italian and we chat a bit skipping breakfast. He has decided to leave this godforsaken state and put some miles between him and the psycho. I don't blame him one bit.
10AM: Breakfast! I throw on a charcoal canali and hit the chickfila drive thru for some breakfast chicken biscuits. I head to my desk and get some paperwork and some calls done.
11AM: I get a call from my attorney buddy Sam. He wants to know how many laws his client who has sent in a Form 1 and not notified the CLEO has broken. I explain I was just having that debate with someone on the internet! It's not a big deal but still kinda a big deal. Our consensus is that it's not count one on the indictment but it could be count five or six.
12PM: Lunchtime. I'm not hungry so I skip lunch. I head to meet with the grandma with the MG and I go over all her new forms that she needs to get fixed with fingeprint cards and my notes. She's super appreciative and gives me $350 in cash. She can't find the will. I call her attorney that I know and he's not picking up. I tell her see if she can get an original copy of the will from the clerks office or from the attorneys office, they normally have a copy.
I ask her what plans she has for the gun. I mean, what's a grandma supposed to do with a registered Colt M16?
All her husbands friends wanted it and they all offered her the same amount so she didn't need it and decided to sell it. She's taking the $5000 she's getting and going on an Alaskan cruise with the grandkids after the world calms down. I shrug. She should have called me.
2PM: Back at my desk, I call the judge's chambers that's doing the probate. Judge Smith LOVES the 308 that I got him a few years ago and is super pleased with my services since he didn't tell the wife about his purchase and I had just gotten a damaged case of 308 PMC Bronze that I made him a hell of a deal on that UPS wrote off. I tell the JA that ATF probably isn't going to call but in case they do just be ready. She's super glad that I told her ahead of time so she can be ready.
Judge Smith is retiring in a few months and he's got some time in the schedule so she patches me through and we catch up for a little bit. I am told that they're going to try to do a COVID compliant socially distanced retirement disrobing party but it's all up in the air. I say if you all need someone to bring potato salad to let me know. As a stalwart of the legal community for many years, lots of folks know the judge so it's well deserved after 20+ years on the bench. As I am also well known in the legal communty the least I can do is show up with a bottle of red for the guy that's signed hundreds of form 4's for me over the years.
3PM: I ship out a few more pistols and sell an M1A scout squad to a guy in California. Not a bad day.
4PM: I'm done for this week. Between the gun show and getting catfished and everything I've earned some time off. I think I'm gonna take the rest of the week off. The phone rings and a guy wants some 9mm ammo. I sell him 500 rds at $375 plus shipping.
Thursday September 17th to Friday September 18th: I wrote this for you all to read.
PS - and this is how you do a "week in the life" thread, you fucking imposter. https://www.reddit.com/guns/comments/i759qj/a_week_in_the_life_of_your_favorite_firearm/

2020.09.14 16:16 prpic123 DD on DPHC

In the past couple of weeks I have been diving a little bit more into the fundamentals of Lordstown Motors and their merging company Diamond Peak Holdings Corp. There has been a lot of bullish and bearish talk about this SPAC and I have found some interesting information about LM. I managed to get in touch with one of the CEOs of their partner subcomponent companies (can't tell which one).
NOTE: I do own some stocks of DPHC which unfortunately makes my opinion more biased, but that is only because the barriers and cons of this stock that I found are not severe and can be overreached with small changes (will tell you in the CON section of the DD). Feel free to write your own opinion in the comments and if you have some more information, please tell me. I, along with everyone else, don’t want to lose money on this one.
PS: do your own research before buying! I am not a stock analyst nor is this my primary profession.
INTRODUCTION: Lordstown Motors primary product that will hit the market in 2021 is their pickup Endurance which is made in America at their headquarters in Lordstown, Ohio. In addition to their experienced executive team made up of automotive leaders from Tesla, Toyota, GM, VW, Hyundai, and more, they already own an ex-GM manufacturing factory which is being remodelled as we speak for the acambalence of their new pickup. The combined company will take the name Lordstown Motors and trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol RIDE.
REASONS FOR EV MARKET TO GROW: The electric vehicle market has witnessed rapid evolution with the ongoing developments in the automotive sector. Favorable government policies and support in terms of subsidies and grants, tax rebates and other non-financial benefits in form of carpool lane access, and new car registration, the increasing vehicle range, better availability of charging infrastructure and proactive participation by automotive OEMs would drive the global electric vehicle sales. Developing electric infrastructure and rising emission concerns and rising government concerns are likely to propel the overall market. The electric vehicle market is estimated to grow from 3,269,671 units in 2019 to 26,952,318 units in 2030.

INVESTORS: The deal includes $500 million private investment in public equity, with General Motors (GM) investing $75 million and institutional investors Fidelity, Wellington and BlackRock (BLK) also investing in the electric vehicle startup, the companies said. The transaction implies a $1.6 billion equity value for Lordstown. The companies expect the deal to close in the beginning of October, based on the preliminary proxy statement (PREM14A) that they filed a couple of days ago.

TRUCK: Revealed in June, the Endurance is a full-size electric pickup truck with about 250 miles of range. One of the truck’s standout features is that it is powered by four electric hub motors, with one in each wheel (as opposed to placing them on the axle). This makes it possible to precisely deliver differing amounts of torque to each wheel, which helps in tough driving conditions. The truck will start at $52,500. A four wheel pickup truck has 4 HUB in-wheel electric motors that generate a pick output of 600hp and it has a towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. Top speed is limited through a PC software to 80mph (128km/h) and it can be charged in 10h from a level 2 charger and in just half an hour at a level 3 DC charger. It seats 5 people and will offer over-the-year updates and real time online fold monitoring such as power outputs for tools and accessories. It is directed toward a commercial fleet, touting its low operating costs, compared with its gasoline-powered F150.

ADVANTAGES: My contact at ____ tells me a major part of their advantage has to do with LMs fast organization and engagement, as well as their well structured business model. When it comes to a vehicle itself, the endurance truck is a first HUB in-wheel powered vehicle, therefore fighting a major space problem other EVs have. This setup features multiple advantages, including superior traction in low-friction surfaces (muddy or slippery conditions). Obviously, that’s a crucial component for a commercially used pickup truck. They are also lighter than other electric motors and are created out of less parts where drivers and operators won't have to deal with the recurring, almost incessant maintenance typical for combustion-engine trucks. Over time, the cost-savings, especially for fleet operators, will be incredibly significant. Other companies like Lamborghini, Toyota, Nissan, Lexus (LF-30) and Kia (Foturon) are announcing their own OEM in-wheel cars. Price-performance is in some ways “better” than their competitors. Subjectively speaking, however, it is not necessarily better at all specifications compared to their biggest rivals Tesla and Riviana. Political background behind this stock is extremely important. In their introduction video, Mike Pence gave a 30 minute speech, and both Trump and Biden have mentioned the vehicle when trying to persuade their Ohio voters. Now even the Ohio governor’s grandson works for LM. Because of the presidential campaigns, we could see more of LM in the major news.
DISADVANTAGES: By moving the motor to the wheels, the Endurance has an unsprung weight dilemma. In a practical view, unsprung components absorb the forces of the road independently to the rest of the vehicle. Thus, this creates potential reliability issues. What is more, the wheels represent rotational mass, meaning they also absorb torque. However, specialists in this field are now uniformed that the problem can be fixed with correctly tuned suspension. There is a lot of competition out there and the product is not jet consumer tested. One californian company did get it for a test ride, but has so far only posted pictures of the product and has not released any additional information.

POTENTIAL GROWTH: we are all familiar with some other stocks in this field like TSLA, NIO, SHLL, SPAQ, NKLA(RIP)... that gained up to 550% just in the last year. It is no secret that EV are one of the biggest trends right now. Last November, Lordstown purchased GM's Lordstown assembly plant, a 6.2 million square foot facility capable of producing 600,000 electric vehicles annually. In June, Lordstown unveiled a prototype Endurance pickup truck and has received more than 38,000 preorders representing more than $2billion of potential revenue from commercial fleet customers, the company said. Although you have to take into account that the pre-order will cost you 100$ and is completely refundable. That being said, if they manage to keep at least 15% of the pre-orders until 2021 that translates to a 300million revenue just at the beginning of January. In the official report they are forecasting to produce 107,000 EV by 2024. Electric vehicles have proven to have ridiculass P/S ratios meaning DPHC has plenty of room to grow. My optimistic opinion would aim toward ~$40 before merger puting the market cap at 1,4B. In 2021, if the vehicle proves itself, it could spike to a much higher number. Beware!! this is my personal opinion. It can stay $22 or it can skyrocket like we have seen with SHLL ($54 high) and NKLA ($80 high). Would love to see your prediction in the comments.
RISK: if the merge will not go through the price will for sure drop back to $10, but this is the risk with all SPACs and is not likely to happen with this one. There was also one discussion on this sub claiming that some insiders are in it for the short run and will sell their stocks when the stock reaches its “high”. However, the comments containing such claims have since been deleted and could be misleading; in an attempt to bring the current price down a bit. If you have some information on this, please leave a comment below. Either way, I think this stock will get a nice pump before the merge. Especially due to DPHC management teams political connections and heavy institutionsholding shares such as Deutsche Bank, Glazer Capital, HSBC holdings,JP Morgan Chase&Co...

That is my DD on LM and DPHC. I hope you like it and that the motherators won't remove it for some reason!

2020.09.10 04:53 Set_Altruistic Threesome help

Hello,
I went on BLK and matched with this dude. There wasn't much talking until he asked if i was down for a threesome. Of course I was excited and said YES. I have been wanting to be with a woman recently; I am in my 20's it's not like i haven't kissed a woman before. But that was more than 10 years ago. I am just really in the dark with the entire thing. I asked him if we can all meet up to see how the vibes are and he was cool with that. But i don't even know this other woman's name. All I have is a picture. She is fine asl, slim thick brown skinned woman. Really for once I'm not intimidate by her body. (sometimes i feel like i don't measure up because i have small boobs, but that's whatever.) Anyway I NEEEEEEEEED something anything to help me. Imma have to eat this woman's pussy, not that I'm opposed but Ive NEVER EATEN PUSSY. It is only just recently that I had some good head myself. I am in a sea of what ifs.
Side note, the past two male partners that I have been with haven't cum without them helping me out, so that's also a bummer. Im a little bit of a pillow princess, and I'm ok with that but a threesome is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of that type of experience. So Help

2020.08.29 00:03 jasmcvic13 My life

2006 im 18 my first son is born a month later married my now ex wife. Working drink but not to much and only weekends ( started drinking at 13)
2007-2014 ex and i fight alot ive been drinking heavy going out alot with couple friends. Rumors go around that she had a little fling for awhile with dude at work. It doesnt bother me ive shut down. Only thing that brought me happiness was my 2nd son was born December 26th..i tear up as i remember and it hurts that i havent seen him in so long.
2015-present Heavy af drinking at the start ex is at her grandmas now for good. I go from hotel to apartment with a friend back to mom and dads house. Dont really talk to ex she might pretend we are still together but we are far from it. 2016 things get interesting...i go out with a friend he drags me to the strip club..its around 11pm ive got work at 3am. He does his normal talk to much and piss people off. Talk him into dipping out as we ate walking there is this tall beautiful gothic girl at the table alone just starring at us. He sits i sit he starts in. She is perfect. Eyes remind of starry night something about the way she talks gives her a slight accent but she is born and raised same town. Tattoos and pierced. She goes on stage tell my buddy im in love with a stripper. She does come back my buddy buys us both a dance he got to grabby so i got rest of his and my full one during my dance she drove me nuts yes her body is perfect feels so good next to mine but thats not what drove me nuts. It was her evil smile....she would be just a centimeter away from my lips barley feel hers drag across mine then she would lean back with this smile that words couldnt explain. She sits with us for awhile my hand is just barely touching her knee she scoots closer and takes my my hand and just holds it feels natural and good as she rubs top of my hand with her fingers. I give her my phone she puts in her phone number and stagename...we walk around a min then dip out. I find her give her a hug and she whispers her real name in my ear. Not sure what it is about her but i cant get her out of my head. Number is real she texted me while we were still there. Im still married at this time but we are not a couple just people who pretend sometimes. Lets call girl i met that night Z. Ive been talking to z everyday feel comfortable at ease. We decided to meet at the park by her house a week or so later. Fuck i walked for 2 or so miles that day. Which would later become a tradition. Im at the park nervous af then i see her walking down the street go to give her a hug and its awkward enough i try not to laugh my ass off. Sit for awhile smoke a bowl with this weird kid..just us watching people practice Soccer and to be honest ive never been so happy. She sits on the wall i stand in front of her the weird kid walks up she grabs me and kisses me. Thats it i belong with her every bit of me does. We are together still......we have had awful fights over the years done and said awful shit. My drinking didnt help at all or me being just a prick in general. Found out she was pregnant in 2018..i lost my shit went off grid for a minute. Drunk all the time. Tried a program but sober moved in lost job got drunk to no fucking end...she went back to her moms. Homeless hoping from er to er or mental hospital just to keep from being on streets. Few days before Christmas im in jail. Trespassing at homeless shelter really drunk and old warrants. Im out on the 26th. Im talking to z i put myself in a detox im getting program set. Go to program graduate we move in. Finally we are home. Fights over whatever here and there. Started doing dope around October 2019 have been since. Doesnt effect my work never had a complaint and z has never said anything. I know in her heart she knows something is up. I dont need it all the time just helps with stress and i dont tweak out like everyone else. Lose the job i had cause of a disagreement in pay with management. Z brother gets me on with the funeral home he works for. This is when covid kicked off and was few days before the city shut down. Good money my favorite job by far. Been hurting alot smoked little blk to help did it every once and awhile. Drinking really was the only thing that hooked me and i would feel like id die without. Which booze did get me pronounced dead twice. Z has been really angry and other shit. Try to talk to her but she just finds away to get mad at me. Working odd hours on call 16 hrs and still onsite for 6 or so. Dont get to spend as much time together. Im depressed..smoke a little and im good. Thats been going on for a month. Now we are at now. Still fighting now all the time. Even if im right she has to find away to make sure im wrong. She will say shit that most people wouldnt to the person they love or fucking anyone. And if i try to walk away oh fuck no. She is pregnant and i know shit is all out of whack but fuck me this is a bit much. Seems since we have moved in together now in our 2nd place the more and more distant we are. She cant work cause or son has a metabolic disorder. They cut any assistance she got/we. And make shit better i got fired from my job because someone that has been there longer then me fucked up and i having faith in my partner signed off. Part of me thinks this is the braking point. Not sure we can survive this. We have been thru everything and stood strong. But she has changed so much i dont think its going to be the same. We were so good all those years. We still act the same but like a fuse got blown. Every time we got around eachother it was perfect not always but yeah. I dont want to have us spilt for awhile but i do. With all this drug use is alot higher up side i still havent drank

New Enewsletter - Centre Plan R1 compared to ER1, secondary suites public hearing, Coronavirus Update #35, more
Some folks have been getting emails or seeing social media posts that seem to show big changes proposed in the R1 zones in the Centre Plan. I’m going to try and show what is changing and what is not, but really what I think is surprising to the people who have called me is how permissive the rules are on the peninsula already.
Right now the R1 zone in the Peninsula Land Use Bylaw, South End Detail Area Plan (adopted around 1982) allows these uses:
  • Up to three-unit conversion in some areas if the home has not changed envelop since 1982
  • Daycare Up to 14 kids
  • Special Care home up to 10 people including staff
  • Office and/or home occupation
  • Boarding house up to 3 boarders (unregistered)
  • Boarding house up to bedroom limit if registered
  • Bed and Breakfast up to 3 bedrooms
  • Chicken keeping no limits or controls
If adopted the ER1 zone in the Centre Plan would allow:
  • Up to three-unit conversion in some areas (I am suggesting the same date of 1982 has to be used)
  • Secondary suite or backyard suite (up to 5.5 meters, or 18') permitted on most lots (has to meet the rules for a garage)
  • If backyard suite is built, maximum conversion drops from 3 units to 2 units
  • Daycare Up to 14 people (including staff) if owner-occupied
  • Small shared housing use (more info on this below)
  • Local commercial on corners on the ground floor (I have already said this has to go in my opinion)
  • Office and/or home occupation
  • Bed and Breakfast up to 3 bedrooms
  • Urban farms, beekeeping, chicken keeping (up to 10 hens per lot, no roosters)
Shared Housing Use is proposed for a dwelling unit that contains 4 or more bedrooms that:
  1. are rented for remuneration as separate units for residential accommodation;
  2. provide medical care for the occupants of the dwelling unit, such as nursing care;
  3. are licensed under the Homes for Special Care Act; or
  4. are operated by a non-profit organization or a registered Canadian charitable organization that provides support services to the occupants of the dwelling unit.
A shared housing use does not include: a multi-unit dwelling use, a hotel use, a bed and breakfast use, or any other tourist accommodation as defined under the Tourist Accommodation Registration Act.
Under proposed Package B – the scale of share housing uses in ER zones is controlled by:
  • Defining and only allowing ‘small shared housing uses’ - containing up to 10 bedrooms;
  • Ensuring shared housing uses are subject to the same building form, setback and lot requirements;
  • Prohibiting shared housing and some uses from locating on the same lot (i.e. can’t have both shared housing and home daycare etc. ) (LUB section 61); and
  • Including small shared housing in the max bedroom count requirements – as copied below.
And critical to make sure houses are not turned into off-campus dorms is the Maximum Bedroom Counts in Low-Density Dwellings. The following limits on the total number of bedrooms apply to all low-density dwelling uses in ER-3, ER-2, and ER-1 zones, including small shared housing, uses, as follows:
  1. single-unit dwelling use: 6 bedrooms per lot;
  2. semi-detached dwelling use: 4 bedrooms per unit;
  3. townhouse dwelling use: 4 bedrooms per unit;
  4. two-unit dwelling use: 4 bedrooms per unit;
  5. three-unit dwelling use: 9 bedrooms per lot; and
  6. four-unit dwelling use: 10 bedrooms per lot.
All bedrooms in a secondary suite use or a backyard suite use shall be counted toward the bedroom limits.
New info sheets on backyard/granny suites are coming in September, and a clearer comparison between R1, R2, and ER1, ER2 and ER3 is being prepared for the public ER stakeholder presentation posted on-line does make a few side by side comparisons. Please see the follow link, slides 14-17. https://www.shapeyourcityhalifax.ca/1041/widgets/5965/documents/28938
So that is a lot of detail, and of course, Centre Plan Package B is far from being adopted, due to COVID delaying the public engagement. So I want to hear from you!
I think there is a lot of merit to this clearer approach to the residential zones, and the changes are minimal for District 7, given how permissive the detailed area plans already are. I also like the backyard and granny suite options if it does not go on top of allowed unit counts. [ Email me your thoughts.](mailto:[email protected])
Due to the diligent work by Lorelei Nicoll, Cole Harbour Councillor and Chair of the Transportation Standing Committee, in-ground crosswalk signs are being tested at five school crosswalk locations. Staff describes them this way:
In-ground crosswalk signs are intended to enhance the conspicuity of school crosswalk locations. The idea behind the development of these types of signs is that signs in the street are more noticeable than signs on the side of the road.
The in-ground crosswalk signs are currently being implemented in the Halifax region on a trial basis at five school crosswalk locations through the Strategic Road Safety Plan. This trial period will test the durability of the signs when left in place for long periods of time, and determine whether they can withstand impacts by snowplows and other vehicles.
If the results of the trial are favourable, the signs may be considered for other school crosswalk locations where there is a demonstrated need.
I saw these in Portland Maine four years ago, and have been a fan ever since. Thank you Lorelei for championing this, more speed radar signs and more rapid flashing beacon installations like the one that was installed this month at Preston/Jubilee.

Public Hearing - Accessory Dwelling Units All Residential Areas of HRM (Secondary and Backyard Suites) Tuesday, September 1, 6 pm and Thursday, September 3, 6 pm as needed Virtual Hearing
On September 1, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. (and Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. if more time is needed) Halifax Regional Council will hold a virtual public hearing on allowing Secondary and Backyard Suites (also called accessory dwelling units) in all residential areas of HRM.
WHAT ARE SECONDARY AND BACKYARD SUITES?
Secondary suites - are separate dwelling units that are completely contained within a home. They are often referred to as in-law suites or basement apartments.
Backyard suites - are separate free-standing buildings, either built overtop an accessory structure like a garage, or simply on their own. They are often referred to as granny suites, carriage flats and could be in the form of a tiny house.
Secondary and Backyard suites can be used by aging parents or adult children or can be used as rental units for the general public. The diagram below shows typical arrangements on a residential property.

Residents who wish to participate in the public hearing may forward a written submission no later than 3:00 p.m. on September 1, 2020 or register to speak no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2020.

Halifax to Beirut Fundraiser I can’t bear to edit this amazing email, so here it is: My name is Jaden Lawen and I am a 17-year-old student from Halifax. I am writing to you today with the hope that you will consider donating to a Lebanese relief fund that I have initiated in partnership with the Red Cross. My initiative was put together out of my desire to help all the people affected by the catastrophic blast. My website is linked with more information and donations can be made directly on the website. In the last 5 days, I have raised over $40,000 and I am asking you for help to make this number grow. Thank you for your consideration! https://halifaxtobeirutwithlove.ca/

Victoria Park Labyrinth Victoria Park at Spring Garden Sundays until October 4 (unless it is raining). Every Sunday afternoon a labyrinth is being set up at Victoria Park on the grass for anyone who wishes to walk it. It is a place to let go of daily preoccupations, to consciously be present. It is a project supported by the Cathedral Church of All Saints but offered to the community.
A little background might be in order. During the tumultuous and painful events of the past several months - COVID-19, Portapique, the protests following the murder of George Floyd, the healing walks held for Chantal Moore and other missing and murdered Indigenous peoples, and so much more, it became increasingly apparent that we are not separate entities -what happens to one has a ripple effect on others.
With so many people in distress, and isolation easing somewhat, the labyrinth is being set up weekly to provide a means to counteract stress and anxiety. Here, we are able to breathe, walk, relax, meditate, pray. It is a place of welcome for all. Labyrinths are universal across cultures and faiths (or no faiths) and are tools for meditation, for mindfulness, for healing, for wellness.
We chose Victoria Park for its proximity to hospitals, universities and shopping areas in an area where many people travel on foot. It is a tranquil location under a canopy of trees that provides shade and promotes an awareness of creation. In this space of harmony, we are able to renew ourselves. It is also a place to listen to the stories of others, to perhaps be more ok with being “uncomfortable” with new viewpoints, ideas.
We are distancing, allowing one person or "household" group on the labyrinth at one time, using masks, if needed, for conversation. We ask people to remove their shoes to protect the labyrinth.

Coronavirus Update #36 – post-secondary update, HRCE school facility rental update

I know a lot of residents are concerned about both out of bubble students as well as the potential for COVID transmission at parties and gatherings.
From what I’ve seen the universities all have the same messaging and it is very strong.
Out of Province and testing As you have heard in the news students from out of province will have to isolate for 14 days and be tested for COVID three times.
Students will receive the email with their clinic date/times locations etc as attached from the booking office with what they need to do.
If a student requires support to get to and from the clinic (lives off-campus, outside of walking/cycling distance) they will respond to the email that they require transportation support. Some students for short radius may walk or cycle, those beyond will have a cab provided, transit use is not permitted.
The messaging is clear on the expectations while in isolation, and what is not permitted.
Social Gatherings and Parties Public health rules and directions apply to students. For example:
  • Everyone must stay 2 metres / 6 feet apart unless they are in the same household or a close social group of up to 10 people
  • Masks must be worn on public transportation:
    • municipal transit buses and ferries
    • school buses
    • motorcoaches (except those that provide charters or tours)
    • transit vehicles o private taxis and shuttles
  • Masks must be worn in most indoor public places – on campus, that means public areas such as the library, student union building or common areas of a faculty building, but not classrooms, labs, offices or residences.
Full student info sheet here: https://novascotia.ca/coronavirus/docs/COVID-19_post-secondary_fact_sheet.pdf
So there should be no ragers as we may sometimes see during the back to school period, but students will still be able to gather 10 at a time with the same folks per these rules.
If you feel a gathering is exceeding these guidelines please report it to the Halifax Regional Police via police non-emergency 902.490.5020.
No use of HRCE School Facilities Nova Scotia’s Back to School plan has several, layered public health measures in place when students and staff return to school. This includes limiting the number of outside visitors in school building. The plan also states that, “Use of schools after hours by other organizations will be limited.”
To support the plan and protect our shared health, the Halifax Regional Centre for Education will not accommodate external evening bookings of school facilities for the period between September 2020 and December 2020, we will reassess through the fall and work with our recreation partners to create a plan for safe access to the schools. We look forward to welcoming groups back into our facilities when it is safe to resume this practice.

Ryzen 7 3700X was chosen instead of 3800X due to the price/performance ratio not justifying, imo. I believe Ryzen brings a solid price/performance and is suitable for multitasking, handling streaming heavy games pretty well.
I'm not 100% sure on the cooling choice, but as our intention is to create a "future proof" machine, we opted to play safe and get a cooler from the start. Not sure if the rational is the correct one, but please feel free to provide some criticism.
MOBO and RAM were chosen as they present a solid choice for Ryzen, for the price. We are not counting on overclocking or pushing how MOBO to the limit, hence also the 16Gb of DDR4-3600 RAM.
There's two HDDs not only for redundancy but also because my partner has some data she would like to transfer to the pc and it might take some space on the hard drive. The 1Tb one would be reserved for this.
The 2070 Super was chosen because the difference in price to the 2080 is big and from what we read, the 2070 Super will be able to handle well the heavy load of streaming and gaming at the same time. Would this graphics card handle well the passing of time?
The 750W PSU was chosen instead of a 650W simply because it's cheaper. Either I'm really dumb, or I'm tired and I couldn't understand why the 650W version is more expensive than the 750W.
I would really appreciate any feedback regarding the choice of the components and/or any criticism of this build. This will be our first build for approximately 15 years ago and our intention is to build the rig, hence the need to make sure we don't choose the wrong components and we take any regrets on what we choose.
Thanks in advance for any replies!

2020.07.23 22:59 badpauly Significant Insider Trading Activity (Last 7 Days)

This is a list of the top 20 companies that experienced the largest change in insider shares in the last seven (7) days. The SEC defines an insider as any officer, director or 10% shareholder. It is not illegal for these people to buy or sell their own shares. In fact, since most of them get paid in stock options, it is expected. However, it is illegal for them to trade on inside information that has not been made public. So for example if there are drug trial results that are bad and not public, insiders cannot dump shares. That said, many people have observed that insiders - in general - seem to have a good track record at timing their purchases. All trades that are marked as part of a 10b5 plan are excluded from this report.

2020.07.12 03:29 GamerJoeWrites What player do I play like?

Position: Combo Guard, Mainly SG
Height: Slightly above average
Strengths:
-Three level scorer, especially from beyond the arc, I'm flawless from back there.
-Good shot creator.
-Flashy passer; racks up assists
-Above average defender
-Pretty athletic
-Great ball handler
-Good leader
-80% free throw shooter; 37% from three; and around 48% overall are my splits. (estimated but pretty accurate since I record my game log) Keep in mind this is at a younger level.
Weaknesses:
-Shot blocking.
-Getting rebounds.
-Post play; guarding post players
-Tend to over-dribble at times; though rarely.
My averages are:
17.8 PPG
2.9 REB
6.1 AST
1.9 STL
0.2 BLK
1.6 TO
About 30 minutes a game; leading in assists, steals, and second in scoring to my dynamic duo partner, who averages around 19 but was out for the first two games.
Season high is 30 with 6-6 3PT Shooting
Record is 8-2.
Thanks!

2020.07.03 04:52 loratcha clay and air (and, at the end, ink)

updated. TL;DR2 at the end. Basically i think i'm doing what a lot of non-fiction authors do: re-writing something that's already been written about in order to try and make sense of it.
---
(long and rambling post, sry, but hopefully there's something worthwhile in here)
consider:
Aeruh, I command the air. Lay leaden on your tongue.
vs.
Aru is the rune for clay
also this from the Tor Q&A:
Q: Are the 3 words (a) Aerueh (where tinkers find polished horns, mentioned once in NoW), (b) Arueh (where fine dark ink is made, mentioned 3 times in WMF) and (c) Aeruh (the word Haliax uses to command the air to bind Selitos, in NoW) connected in any way (other than being spelled similarly)?
A: Ah hell. That’s a typo. A and B should be the same thing. They’re referring to a place.
I’ll have to fix that in the later editions of the book.
----
Let's start with clay - a few irl references via wikipedia
so yeah. and we know that PR is pretty well-versed in mythology, and also that KKC is (after a fashion) an hommage to/commentary on/reinterpretation of various mythological/religions traditions.
to continue - a closer look at breath and clay (some of this will be a recap from other posts):
there's also a version of the Prometheus myth:
But, as yet, there were no mortal men until, with the consent of the goddess Athene, Prometheus, son of Iapetus, formed them in the likeness of gods. He used clay and water of Panopeus in Phocis, and Athene breathed life into them. (here)
similar, but this time it's the wind:
There was also an account, stating that Prometheus had created men out of earth and water, at the very beginning of the human race, or after the flood of Deucalion, when Zeus is said to have ordered him and Athena to make men out of the mud, and the winds to breathe life into them (Apollod. i. 7. § 1; Ov. Met. i. 81; Etym. Mag. s. v. Promêtheus). Prometheus is said to have given to men something of all the qualities possessed by the other animals (Horat Carm. i. 16. 13). (here)
the Prometheus version is especially interesting, consider that Prometheus also stole fire from the gods and gave it to humans
Felurian says:
“long before the cities of man. before men. before fae. there were those who walked with their eyes open. they knew all the deep names of things.”
so men/humans were created at some point
Clay = adamah (Hebrew for "ground, earth, clay"), as in Adem, Edema
furthermore, wikipedia says:
Adam (אדם) literally means "red", and there is an etymological connection between adam and adamah, adamah designating "red clay" or "red ground" in a non-theological context.[7] In traditional Jewish theology, a strong etymological connection between the two words is often assumed
and then there's the Adem concept of vaevin/anger
“All things that live have anger. It is the fire in them that makes them want to move and grow and do and make.”

here are a couple interesting moments:
Elodin stopped and turned to face me on the stairway. ... He stared at me for a long minute. He looked me up and down as if I were a horse he were thinking of betting on, or a side of beef he was considering selling by the pound. But that was nothing compared to when he met my eyes. For a heartbeat it was simply unsettling. Then it almost felt like the light on the stairway grew dim. Or that I was suddenly being thrust deep underwater and the pressure was keeping me from drawing a full breath.
consider that when Kvothe tells Elodin the Felurian story, Elodin makes the Adem hand gesture for amazed respect (i.e. he's been to Ademre), also
Magwyn made another circle of me...then stopped in front of me and looked me fully in the eye. Her eyes were like Elodin’s. Not in any of the details. ...the similarity was in how she looked at me. Elodin was the only other person I had met who could look at you like that, as if you were a book he was idly thumbing through. When Magwyn met my eyes for the first time, I felt like all the air had been sucked out of me.
not sure what to make of this yet, but we've got a constellation of things:

Vashet is Magwyn's granddaughter. And Vashet's name means: the hammer, the clay, the spinning wheel... (see also bone ash)
edit: one more clay reference to add -
“What’s a clay?” I asked.
“Clay tablet,” Wil explained. “They were some of the only things to survive when Caluptena burned. Some have been transcribed, but not all.”

ok, finally, we get to
(b) Arueh (where fine dark ink is made, mentioned 3 times in WMF)
ink. says wikipedia:
An inkstone is a stone mortar for the grinding and containment of ink. In addition to stone, inkstones are also manufactured from clay, bronze, iron, and porcelain.
interesting tidbit:
The earliest excavated inkstone is dated from the 3rd century BC, and was discovered in a tomb located in modern Yunmeng, Hubei.
(Barrow Hill, anyone?)
all of which brings us finally (!) to Denna:
“Is there a type of magic that’s just . . .” She wiggled her fingers vaguely. “Just sort of writing things down?”
and the Kvothe/Chronicler exchange:
Kvothe came back up the steps carrying a small clear bottle. “Is there anything else you need? I have a good stock of paper and ink here too.”
“It may come to that by tomorrow,” Chronicler said. “I’ve used up most of my paper. But I can grind more ink tonight.”
“Don’t put yourself to the trouble,” Kvothe said easily. “I have several bottles of fine Aruean ink.
“True Aruean ink?” Chronicler asked, surprised.
Kvothe gave a broad smile and nodded.
on this last point in particular, see this fine post by u/-Yuri-:

TL;DR: nothing exactly earth shattering here -- mainly this is an attempt to dig deeper into the connections between
(a) Aerueh (where tinkers find polished horns, mentioned once in NoW),
(b) Arueh (where fine dark ink is made, mentioned 3 times in WMF) and
(c) Aeruh (the word Haliax uses to command the air to bind Selitos, in NoW)
and let's add
(d) Aru, the rune for clay
all of which probably have some relation to the ability to "breath life into matter" aka animate the inanimate, which also has something to do with the writing magic Denna is seeking.
and for the frosting, let's listen to Pat pronounce Edema Ruh
---
edit: a couple more things... (please keep the breath of life into clay idea in mind)
In Jewish tradition, the golem is most widely known as an artificial creature created by magic, often to serve its creator. The word "golem" appears only once in the Bible (Psalms139:16). In Hebrew, "golem" stands for "shapeless mass." The Talmud uses the word as "unformed" or "imperfect" and according to Talmudic legend, Adam is called "golem," meaning "body without a soul" (Sanhedrin 38b) for the first 12 hours of his existence.
[...] Other sources say once the golem had been physically made one needed to write the letters aleph, mem, tav, which is emet and means "truth," on the golem's forehead and the golem would come alive. Erase the alephand you are left with mem and tav, which is met, meaning "death."
Another way to bring a golem to life was to write God's name on parchment and stick it on the golem's arm or in his mouth. One would remove it to stop the golem.
TL;DR2:
Maybe humans in KKC were created by combining all the Aru-s: clay, air, + Aruean ink:

2020.07.01 10:56 KagsTheOneAndOnly [OC] 5 breakout seasons you might have missed this year

This season, most of you have probably heard or read at one point or another about Luka Dončić soaring into the MVP conversation as a sophomore, the many all-star jumps (Ingram/Trae/Sabonis/Mitchell/Siakam/Booker), Bam Adebayo making a name for himself as an all-round stud in Miami, the Hornets' Devonte' Graham's heartwarming vault into NBA relevance, Ben Simmons's All-Defensive leap, and Jayson Tatum's long-awaited superstar transformation mid-season.
This post, then, will be talking about some breakouts around the league that you might have missed this season, coming from players on less talked-about teams, or simply improved aspects of certain players' games that may have flown under the radar for whatever reason.

1: Jonathan Isaac, defensive savant

[Note: Please read this fantastic and highly detailed two-part post by Jonathan Chen, from which I pilfered the vast majority of the clips that I've linked below: Jonathan Isaac: A Unicorn on the Defensive End]
Jonathan Isaac broke out as an early Defensive Player of the Year-candidate for the Orlando Magic this season - only an unfortunate season-ending left knee injury 32 games in stopped him from achieving a well-deserved All-Defensive spot this year.
While Isaac's gaudy per-game averages (7 rebounds, 1.6 steals, 2.4 blocks) are useful shorthand, they actually underplays his overall impact because of how truly unicorn-ish and all-encompassing his defensive profile is.
  • Paint defense
It all starts with Judah's elite rim protection - opponents shoot a sizeable 10.2 FG% worse within 6 feet of the rim (50.9 DFG%) when Isaac is the closest defender, where his savant-like shot-blocking instincts kick in as the Magic's defensive anchor. Whether he's the primary defender or the weak-side help, he's got fantastic footwork and is very quick off his feet, possessing a mean second-jump. Combined with his 6-11 frame, 7-1 wingspan, and an excellent sense of timing, Isaac is an athletic, long, and relentless roadblock at the rim to thwart otherwise high-percentage opponent shot-attempts in the paint. He's able to tussle with larger behemoths as well - here he is denying Embiid at the rim with one hand. In addition, Isaac remains quite disciplined, managing to consistently remain vertical on his contests and averaging only 2.5 fouls/game, impressive for a 3rd-year defender just 22 years of age.
  • Man defense
Isaac's man defense is already highly impressive, able to guard bigs and guards alike without giving an inch (he has a 62.2% versatility index) and able to guard either the primary or secondary offensive options effectively while also protecting the rim. He's got quick hands that he uses to force turnovers, constantly stripping players when they gather or pick up their dribble. In the post, his length and lanky frame makes him a pest. When defending perimeter threats, his footwork is impeccable, he maneuvers screens really well, and he's agile and long enough to shut down the Greek Freak in semi-transition. When he is beat, he often chases perpetrators down from behind.
  • Team defense
Isaac's off-ball activity and team defense, meanwhile, is reminiscent of peak Draymond, KG, or Andrei Kirilenko, constantly making timely rotations to eat up passing lanes, anticipating and disrupting opponent plays, crowding ball-handlers and halting dribble-penetration, closing out to shooters, and swatting shot attempts at the rim, basically making himself an all-around menace on the court.
  • Some of his few defensive weaknesses:
He can gamble at times for steals (which does work out more often than not thanks to his length and instincts) and occasionally foul on shot contests, he can get caught out-of-position in the post sometimes, and he can be a bit overly twitchy in the paint, falling for pump-fakes from time to time.
  • Orlando's best and most important defender:
He leads the team and ranks near the top of the league in steals/game (1.6), blocks/game (2.4), defensive loose-balls recovered (0.8), and deflections/game (3.3); is 2nd on the team in charges drawn (0.13), defensive box-outs (2.0); and is 3rd in defensive rebounds/game (5.2).
With Isaac on the court, the Orlando Magic's defensive rating jumps by a whopping 4.5 points to an excellent 106.5 DRTG (-3.9 rDRTG), which would rank as the 4th-best defense in the league over a full season, significantly higher than the 9th place (109.0 DRTG) the Magic ended up at at the time of the NBA's suspension.
  • Advanced metrics:
Box- and non-box advanced metrics all think very highly of Isaac's overall defensive impact - he has a +4.8 D-RAPTOR (3rd in NBA), +3.2 D-PIPM (4th), and a +2.9 D-BPM (3rd).
  • So what's next for Isaac?
Isaac is slowly starting to get the benefit of the doubt from referees:
"I thought they were going to call it, I thought they were going to call it goaltending,’’ said a relieved Isaac after his Magic notched their fourth straight victory – this one a gritty 93-87 defeat of Cleveland. "I just tried to get (Thompson’s hook shot) at its highest point, and they gave it to me. I think the refs are starting to let me slide a little bit and I like it.’’
It probably won't be very long before Isaac will be able to run rampant as a full-blown terror on the defensive end, and combined with his decent ancillary offensive numbers as a tertiary scorer / potential floor-spacer (12.0 PPG, 2.8 3PA, 33 3P%), Jonathan is already a truly indispensable part of the Magic rotation for the foreseeable future.
(Bonus clip that perhaps summarises the entirety of Isaac's versatile skillset: His near-5x5 performance in a 1-point loss vs the Dallas Mavericks' historic league-leading offense on November 6, putting up 13/10/5/6/4 while tormenting Porzingis all night long (10 pts, 2 TOVs, 29 FG%) and holding Luka and KP to a combined 37 points on 35 shots (47.5 TS%) and 8 turnovers.)

2: Christian Wood, the NBA's newest unicorn

After 49 games of being an overqualified backup to Andre Drummond (averaging 10/5/1/1/1 on excellent efficiency), Detroit finally moved Christian Wood into the starting lineup after Drummond got traded to Cleveland for their final 13 games before the NBA suspended its season.
  • "Sooo.. who is Wood, and why should we care?"
In his final 13 games, Christian Wood has played like a bonafide star, averaging 22.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, 0.8 blocks, 0.8 steals, and 1.7 threes on 66% True Shooting (56 FG%, 40 3P% on 4.2 3PA, 76 FT%).
He's been remarkably consistent as well, scoring fewer than 17 points only once during this stretch, and showing up against a variety of good teams - 3 of his final 4 games were against stout opposition, and he rose to the challenge admirably, with outputs of 29/9/3 on 91 TS% vs OKC, 30/11/2 on 56 TS% vs the Jazz and reigning DPOY Gobert, and a career-high 32/7/2/3/2 on 81 TS% v.s. Philly.
  • "He's on a bad team though, and Detroit lost all but one of those 13 games. Aren't these just empty numbers?"
There's exists some evidence that these aren't empty calorie numbers.
For one thing, Wood is an advanced stats darling - he ranks in the top-20 to 30 range in most box- and non-box metrics: +4.5 RAPTOR (18th), +3.1 BPM (BBRef) (27th), 0.184 WS/48 (24th), +2.98 PIPM (26th), +2.82 RPM (ESPN) (22nd), +2.09 RAPM (20th).
For another, the Pistons are a whopping +10.9 points better with Wood on the court, with their defensive rating improving by +3 and their offensive rating getting a ridiculous +8 boost.
  • "So, what makes him so effective?"
Offensively, Wood is particularly special, able to shine as either a PF or a C.
When he plays the 5, he is an elite roll-man in the PnR (97th percentile); his potent roll-gravity often distracts defending bigs to get teammates easier looks at the rim. His athleticism and feathery touch allow him to finish at an elite rate at the rim (77 FG% in restricted area), either skying for lobs or shedding defenders with power and speed.
Wood is very aggressive in the short roll too, bullying defenders with unflashy but effective bumps, pivots, fakes, and his leaping ability, not shying away from contact either, affording him a healthy free-throw rate overall (6 FTA/game as starter, 76 FT%).
Wood is also a highly capable offensive rebounder (3.2 ORB/game in final 13 games, top 20 in ORB%), adept at following up on both teammate misses and his own.
Of course, Wood is also a remarkable shooter for his position (40 3P% on 4.2 3pa/game in final 13 games), with a quick and high release off-the-catch that's unbothered by all but the longest of perimeter defenders, opening up driving lanes for teammates with his gravity. "Wood is the rare stretch-4 who doubles as a rim-running 5", allowing coaches a high level of versatility when designing offensive sets. Wood possesses a smooth dribble, too, which lets him attack closeouts and slash to the basket.
  • "What about on defense, though?"
Defensively speaking, Wood has tremendous physical tools: 7-3 wingspan, excellent feet, highly athletic, making him a highly versatile defender capable of guarding speedy guards on switches (68.9 versatility index). He's a decent rim-protector - opponents shoot 6% worse within 6 feet of the hoop when Wood is the closest defender, and Detroit as a whole are +4.4 points better defensively when Wood is on the court. His pick-and-roll defense is actually quite decent, knowing when to drop and timing his contests well. Overall, he's likely a slight positive on defense.
  • "Does he suck at anything?"
Wood can't power through larger defenders, and his post game is highly limited. To quote Jonathan Tjarks, "his ability to score one-on-one is still mostly theoretical—he’s in the 22nd percentile of post scorers this season and the 10th percentile in isolations."
Wood is also a subpar playmaker - he had a 2.0/2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio in his final 13 games. He can make basic reads out of double-teams, but has yet to truly weaponise his own scoring threat to get teammates easier looks on a more consistent basis.
Defensively, his awareness as a team defender has room for improvement, and his motor can be sloppy (seen in some mediocre box-outs or close-outs). He also has trouble against heftier post players, and some speedy guards can blow by him.
Finally, Small Sample Size alert! Some regression is very likely expected for Wood's gaudy shooting numbers once more teams learn more about his abilities and begin to throw more defenders (and better defenders) on him.
  • "So what's the future like for Christian?"
Wood is trusting his teammates more on both sides of the ball. He’s not forcing things on offense... Wood is scoring by giving the ball up and trusting it will come back to him when he’s open instead of constantly hunting for his own shot.
Wood doesn't demand touches and is highly efficient in his role, something that will let him scale well on good offenses, something that bodes well for his future as a Piston but also makes him an attractive addition for a playoff side - he's an unrestricted free-agent this summer. If he carries or builds upon this level of production into next season, he'll easily be a Most Improved Player contender with All-Star potential.
  • "Hmm, I'm actually kinda interested in knowing more about him!"
In that case, here are two marvellous breakdowns of Wood's game which I consumed and referenced voraciously while writing this section:
-Coach Daniel on YouTube: Why Christian Wood Is Genuinely A Terrific Player
-Jonathan Tjarks, The Ringer: Get Used to Hearing Christian Wood’s Name

3: Jaren Jackson Jr, one of the best volume-shooters in the league

Jaren Jackson Jr (17/5/1.5 on +2.6 rTS%), is a proper unicorn, and easily the 2nd most important offensive piece on the Grizzlies, mainly due to his elite floor-spacing opening things up considerably for their offense - he's frighteningly adept at his role, hitting 40% of his 6 to 7 three-point attempts per game.
  • "Surely the section title is clickbait or hyperbole, though, right? He's just a big, after all, he can't be that good"
Actually, there are only 11 other players in the entire league (≥30 GP) who have shot at least as accurately as Jaren (39.7 3P%) on at least as many attempts (6.3 3PA).
Here are all 135 3-pointers he's made this season, just to get an idea of how he shoots these, and here's him draining 9 threes on the league-leading Bucks' defense en route to a career-high 43 points.
  • "So does he just stand in the corner and wait for Ja to feed him?"
Not exactly... JJJ has a somewhat atypical form but a quick and high release, and he shoots a truly incredible variety of threes, making them as part of pick-and-pop action, some simply off-the-dribble, some stepbacks, some in transition, some on the move, some off screens, or and he even sprinkles in the odd logo yeet from 30 feet out.
To quote some more from this excellent SB Nation breakdown of Jaren Jackson Jr's versatile game by Mike Prada:
The fact that Jackson can take and make so many different kinds of threes enables the Grizzlies to deploy him in so many different spots on the court. He has no obvious sweet spot, which means there’s rarely a worry he’ll catch the ball somewhere he doesn’t belong. He can toggle between playmaker, primary scorer, screener, and floor spacer, depending on what the Grizzlies need at that particular moment.
Better yet, he can do all four within the same play, which ensures Memphis’ sets always have secondary options. A pick-and-pop that the defense covers effectively can quickly swing into a dribble handoff, post-up, or second-side screening action, and it’s difficult for the defense to peg exactly where Jackson fits in to those sequences. In an instant, he’s flipped from the big man screener that gets a guard open into the primary option on a flare screen to get him a three.
[vid]
And if that shot isn’t there, he can quickly flow back into being a screener for a guard curling up from the corner.
[vid]
Or — and this is spicy — he can invert the traditional big/guard setup and act as the ball-handler immediately.
[vid]
Well, overplaying JJJ's shooting is unwise - he possesses a decent handle for a big (relatively few turnovers considering he drives quite often) and is excellent at attacking closeouts and finishing at in the paint (65 FG% in restricted area). Some of his long strides and wrong-footed finishes bring to mind Pascal Siakam. His post scoring is well below-average (26th percentile), his ISO scoring is decent (65th percentile), and his shooting in the non-restricted area of the paint (floaters and such) isn't anything to write home about (39.5 FG%). Interestingly, he rarely takes midrange shots, attempting a James Harden-esque 16 midrange attempts over the entire season.
Defensively-speaking, Jaren is very versatile and has incredible length, athleticism, footwork, and timing, able to switch onto bigs and guards alike with equal ease and possessing preternatural defensive instincts as a help defender. However, he is still some way from fulfilling his All-Defensive, even DPOY potential, as he's haunted by persistent fouling issues - he's averaged 5.2 fouls/36 in each of his first 2 seasons. His rebounding rate is anemic for a player his size, too (3.7 D-Rebs/game) - part of this might be due to him playing out on the perimeter a lot, part of it might just be due to his rebounding being naturally poor. (In case you were wondering, JJJ's lack of rebounding isn't a Steven Adams issue because he's just boxing people out all the time, either - he's 109th in the league in defensive-box-outs/game.) His current overall defensive impact, therefore, is quite neutral at the moment - most advanced numbers don't think highly of it. Memphis have the 16th ranked defense in the league, and their defensive rating actually improves with JJJ off the court (some of this might just be noise, or perhaps a case of Grizzlies' backups shining against weaker bench units). In any case, these current defensive shortcomings are something Grizzlies fans will likely gladly live with, considering JJJ's offensive value and the promise of future improvements in his defensive impact once he learns to foul less.

4: Kris Dunn, the modern-era Tony Allen?

This season, the Bulls' dogged guard slash forward Kris Dunn has graded out consistently as one of the very best and most impactful defenders in the NBA, regardless of position. For the first time in his career, Dunn's team is A) excellent at defense with him on the court, and B) much better on defense with him on the court than without.
First, though, let's get the numbers out of the way:
  • Height: 6-3, Weight: 205 lb, Wingspan: 6-10, 51 GP, 24.9 MPG
  • 2nd in Steals/game (2.0), 1st in Steal % by a wide margin, 4th in Deflections/game (only player in the top 11 averaging fewer than 25 minutes a night), 8th in Defensive loose-balls recovered/game
  • 2nd in Defensive Box Plus Minus (BBRef)
  • 5th in Defensive PIPM
  • 7th Defensive RAPTOR, which incorporates player tracking data
  • 7th in Defensive RAPM / Luck-adjusted RAPM
  • 13th in Defensive Real Plus-Minus (ESPN)
  • Bulls have a 106.4 Defensive Rating (-4.0 rDRTG) with Kris Dunn on the floor, which would rank 4th in the NBA over a full season. The Bulls defense also improves by a massive +6.2 points when Dunn enters the game.
  • 67.8 Versatility Index, guarding positions 1-3 at least 19% of the time each, and spending 15% of his possessions guarding PFs and Cs
  • Held pick-and-roll ball-handlers to 0.71 points per possession, one of the best marks in the league
  • Can guard either the primary or secondary offensive options highly effectively as required
  • Opponents shoot 1.5% worse on 3s when Dunn is the closest defender
  • "Among those who logged at least 20 minutes per game, Dunn led all players in the percentage of his points that came off a turnover, at a whopping 29.3 percent. It’s reminiscent of prime Tony Allen — who used to live near the top of the league in this category — and more than doubled his production from the previous year."
Adding on some more quotes from Michael Pina's fantastic SB Nation breakdown of Dunn's defense, "Kris Dunn is a dying breed in today’s NBA. That’s why he’s so fascinating":
On the night Kris Dunn suffered a knee injury that will likely end his season, I sat by his locker to chat about defense. Considering no guard in the NBA has been better at it this season, the topic made sense.
We talked about... The dark arts that go into learning his opponent’s specific tendencies:
“A lot of guys who are righties like to go left to be able to get to their jump shot, and a lot of people who are righties like to go downhill to their right side. But if you’re a righty, most likely you like to go left. I just feel like you just have, you know, more in your bag of tricks going left. If you’re a lefty, most of the time they like going right. It’s just how they do it.
I like to break down to see what’s their go-to move. Some people when they come down the court, if they have the ball in their left hand, they’re getting ready to shoot. If they have the ball in their right hand, they’re ready to drive.”
... And player comparisons:
“I feel like Tony Allen, he just fits what I do. He’ll pounce on you. He was strong, physical. I think he could guard 1 through 3, even fours. I feel like I can guard some fours sometimes. I feel like that’s a good comparison because he’s got that dog, he’s got that bloodhound in him.”
Dunn’s season-long defensive impact was, to be frank, spectacular. He thrived in Jim Boylen’s tight-rope-walk of a defensive scheme, torpedoing passing lanes, living in his man’s jersey, and never giving up on a possession.
For most defenders, including Dunn, a majority of his defensive possessions are spent off the ball, and it’s here where his knowledge, instincts, and timing swirl up into a typhoon that the offense then has to navigate.
“He’s an all-defensive defender if I’ve ever seen one, and I’ve seen a few of them,” Boylen said right before the injury. “Paul George, Kawhi Leonard. He’s an All-Defensive guy.”
  • Indeed, Kris Dunn should receive some serious consideration for an All-Defensive spot. He may not get it because the Bulls are bad and his offensive role is limited, hence he likely won't be well-known to most voters, but he's clearly been one of the best guard defenders in the league this year, and one of the most impactful defenders in the league, period.

5: Kawhi Leonard, playmaker

This entry might surprise some readers, but yes, in the 2019-20 season, reigning Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard has finally broken out as a PASSER - 5.0 APG, decent 1.9:1 AST/TO ratio, 27.0 AST%, impressive 6.7 Passer Rating (Backpicks).
See, prior to this season, Kawhi was not actually a very good passer or playmaker.
  • A fun and relevant stat- Kawhi only has 10 TOTAL career games (regular season and playoffs combined) with 8 or more assists, and a whopping 7 of them came in the 2019-20 regular season. (source)
In previous years, Kawhi has had a few high-assist games in the playoffs, mostly as a result of making basic passes out of double-teams when teams commit multiple defenders to slow down his monster playoff-scoring, but he's never been a proficient playmaking wing like LeBron/Kobe/MJ, often lacking accuracy and velocity on many of his passes, and very rarely making more advanced reads (throwing skip passes out of a Pick-and-Roll/PnR, for example). After developing into the amazing ISO scorer we now know him as in 2017, Kawhi was generally in score-first mode for the vast majority of his possessions, generally only trying to find teammates when his own attack had fizzled out. This slightly limited his team's and his own ceiling as an offensive force, unable to punish help consistently and effectively.
This season, though, Kawhi burst out of the gate as a shockingly comfortable and effective passer and playmaker, averaging 8 APG in his first 4 games. Far from his probing, soft, and hesitant passes late in the shot clock to teammates in previous years, this version of the Klaw tries to keep his head up and his offensive options open, always tracking where his teammates are. He consistently hits the Clippers' bigs Zubac and Harrell in the PnR with crisp high-speed bounce-passes, throws no-looks and skip passes to shooters, and even manipulates defenders by freezing them with his eyes before rapidly lasering the ball to open teammates under the rim.
To quote Zach Lowe:
He already has developed chemistry with two very different dance partners in Ivica Zubac and Montrezl Harrell. Zubac is more laborious, and so Leonard navigates with zigzaggy, start-and-stop patience until Zubac rumbles free: clip
Harrell can zip to the rim or mirror Leonard's pitter-pat. Harrell also is a master at re-screening at different angles, and Leonard is learning to bob and weave behind him -- and use the threat of a handoff to slice backdoor: clip
His passing leap shows up on film, too, where he rarely looks lost anymore, knowing where his teammates are at all times, but it also shows up in the numbers: easily a career-high 5.0 assists/game (previous high was 3.3 in 2017), 27.0 AST% (previous high 18.9% in 2017).
The rest of the league should be worried - one of the finest scorers in the game has finally upgraded his passing game to match.
That's it for today, thanks for reading!

While Isaac's gaudy per-game averages (7 rebounds, 1.6 steals, 2.4 blocks) are useful shorthand, they actually underplay his overall impact because of how truly unicorn-ish and all-encompassing his defensive profile is.

Interestingly, he rarely takes midrange shots, with a James Harden-esque 16 midrange attempts over the entire season.

2020.06.29 03:29 VodkaDogs [Review] Yeezy 350 in Black from SavageShoes

Good day, ladies! This is my second rep purchase after joining this sub. After great success with my bag, I wanted to further dip into the rep pool by purchasing some shoes. I also wanted to bring my partner in with me so I began the search for some Yeezy sneakers. I'm only including the review of mine because they're from the same batch/same colorway (Black Non-reflective).

General Info:

Photos:

Quality: 10/10

Overall construction of the shoe looks very god to me - studying some auth photos online the stitching looks to be the same and I don't see any stray hairs/glue marks/etc. The materials used all seem to be comparable to the authentic shoe - definitely feels high-quality to me. This shoe has some structure to it for sure - I STRUGGLE to shove my foot into them. These shoes feel very sturdy and I don't have any worries about them holding up. The only one weird thing is that for some reason mine seem to squeak when I walk but my partner's don't. I'm not sure if that would be a quality issue so I won't take off points for it.

Accuracy: 9/10

  1. Overall Shape +1
  2. Peaked tongue +1
  3. Heel arc +1
  4. Stripe width +1
  5. Pull tab size +1
  6. Midsole translucency +1
  7. Primeknit pattern +1
  8. Toe cage holes +1
  9. Laces RF +1
  10. Heel isn't as translucent as auth -.5
  11. Pull tab placement too straight -.5
Please note that I had help QCing these by enlisting the help of a fellow redditor.
I sent a picture of these to my friend who is a sneakerhead with multiple pairs of Yeezys (didn't say they were reps) and he responded "ayyyy look atchu" so I was feeling verified AF about their accuracy haha.

Satisfaction: 10/10

Both me and my partner absolutely love these. The only thing I'm sad about is my own fault - I ordered a 5 and should have ordered a 5.5 so they're a bit tight. My partner's fit perfectly and he says they're incredibly comfortable. I normally would be a 5.5 so I would say that these are true to size - I'm just a fool that messed up my order.
Overall I LOVE these shoes and I have a newfound love for sneakers so I will be ordering more in the future. The only issue is that we both reach for these when leaving the house and I CANNOT pull off that matching couple fit so sometimes I'm forced to leave them at home :(

Seller Communication and Service: 10/10

Absolutely no complaints and I will definitely be ordering from SavageShoes again in the future. The whole process was a breeze.

Thanks for stopping by!
Cheers.

2020.06.15 01:15 leoroks Steve Kerr's secret weapon: Andrew Wiggins???

Warning: this is a long post and took a while so I would appreciate a full read.
This offseason has been a long one no doubt. A lot of us have fantasized about who we could get, Oubre, Turner, Giannis etc… and there is no doubt that Kerr and Myers are exploring these as well.
But we all know by now… Myers and Kerr play chess, others play checkers. As you may have guessed reading the title, I don’t think Wiggins was a short term move. I don’t even think he was a trade bait. I actually think that Wiggins… may have been the target of the trade, not a throw in to accompany that 2022 Minnesota pick. Why?? Here is why.
The general view on Wiggins is.. he is an okay player, but he did not meet expectations. He is unmotivated and inefficient and is not a very good defender. I challenge these. Not off anecdotal evidence, but statistics.
Let us start off with arguably the weakest point of Wiggins game, and easily the most criticized… his defense.
We can go into DBPM and all sorts of advanced stats.. in all of them Wiggins is not very good to say the least. But these stats widely are affected also by the team Wiggins plays with, and additionally, reflect more of an off-ball defense then on-ball. Here are Wiggins on ball defensive statistics.
Opponent shooting less than 5 feet (rim): 62.4% FG allowed
5-9 feet: 40.2% FG allowed
10-14 feet: 38.3% FG allowed
15-19 feet: 46.4% FG allowed
20-24 feet: 39.8% FG allowed
25-29 feet: 38.1% FG allowed
These numbers do not mean much at first.. so let us compare them to a player physically and positionally similar… and one that is at the top of their game. Kawhi Leonard in the same stats:
Less than 5 feet: 62.2% allowed
5-9 feet: 37.4%
10-14 feet: 37.9%
15-19 feet:37.0%
20-24 feet: 34.4%
26-29 feet: 33.5%
Now, Kawhi Leonard is undeniably one of the best defensive player in the game right now. At least a top 3 guy. Wiggins numbers in comparison are not bad at all, as you can see. 15-19 feet for Wiggins seems to be anomaly, but as you can see, their numbers are legitimately comparable.
How about advanced stats?
This year Wiggins posted career bests in OBPM, DBPM, BPM, VORP, AST%, BLK%, while his usage was hovering at a pretty high mark of 27.4. His numbers in BPM were not very good (DBPM and BPM were negative), but the fact that he is clearly improving shows a lot. An interesting thing I noticed… from MIN to GSW his STL% jumped up by 1, and his BLK% by 1.7. On arguably a worse team than Minny. Small sample size, sure, still interesting to see.
538 came out with a new advanced stat about a year ago which evaluated on-ball defense, appropriately named DRAYMOND. In that Stat, for the 2018-19 season (2019-20 season has not been entered in yet), Wiggins shows up as +0.14, a far cry from the supposedly negative defender he is. Even better, they also linked DRAYMOND to RAPM to see who was overrated, and who was underrated as a defender. Wiggins saw a positive change of +0.24, meaning he is underrated as a defender in that category.
Wiggins this season albeit a S.S.S. (small sample size) with the Dubs posted some veryyy good numbers.
Averaged 1.4 blocks a game with the Warriors, and 1.3 steals a game with GSW. 1.0 blocks with both MIN and GSW, Good for 30th in the entire league, right next to GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO. If you consider Wiggins a guard (I see him as a big SG/SF, and since he is a secondary ball handler he is basically a guard), he is 2nd in the league for blocks at his position. Steals he is not as good but either way, there is real evidence that supports the fact that he can be a good to great defender in the NBA. Draymond does not pass around praise easily, and for a so-called soft player, the fact that Draymond said “Andrew Wiggins can be an all-NBA defender” means something..
But enough about defense. Let’s get to the offense. The Warriors are the premier shooting team in the NBA when healthy. Their entire offense is built around ball movement and shooting. So why go for a player like Wiggins who is a mediocre to a little above average shooter who is not much of a ball mover?
This is why. Andrew Wiggins averaged 14.1 drives per game this season. For reference, that was 18th in the NBA. He was also the 3rd wing on the list, behind DeMar DeRozan and Jimmy Butler. When driving his FG% was 48.9%. For reference, similar players physically and positionally:
Butler: 43.0%
DeRozan: 55.9%
Caris Lavert (14.1 drives a game as well): 37.7%
Kawhi Leonard: 51.5%
Tatum: 47.3%
Donovan Mitchell: 48.5%
When Andrew Wiggins drove in, the percentage of possessions that resulted in any points was 61.8%. For reference…
Westbrook: 57.1%
DeRozan: 62%
Doncic: 63.2%
Butler: 51%
Leonard: 66.7%
Tatum: 72.6%
Mitchell: 62.4%
Finally, the percentage of times that Wiggins drew fouls on drives: 7.9%.. for reference
Westbrook: 5.9%
Doncic: 7.4%
DeRozan: 8.3%
Mitchell: 6.4%
Butler: 11.8%
Harden: 12.3%
Leonard: 9.1%
Tatum: 9.6%
As you can see, for just simply drives alone Wiggins is not only holding his own with the stars of the league, he arguably *is* one of the stars of the league driving wise.
But what about other offensive measures?
Format (if I put the numbers like 99/11 percentile in playtype x, that means he was 99th percentile with the Warriors, and 11th percentile with TWolves… if there is only 1 number than its combined)
Wiggins is:
69th percentile in post-ups (4% freq)
80th/49th percentile in transition (15% freq with GSW, 9.8% freq with MIN)
47th/38th percentile in isolation (8.1/9.1% freq (GSW/MIN is the format))
32nd/56th percentile in PNR (ball-handler) (29.8/36.4% freq)
80th/35th percentile in spot-ups (15/13.7% freq)
heres the kicker:
94th/70th percentile in handoffs (9.4%/10.5% freq) - We need to see a lot more of this he has always been pretty good at handoffs looking at his history
61st/90th percentile in cuts (6.4%/5.6% freq) - also been pretty good at cutting for a while, this will come with more chemistry
66th/58th percentile in off screen /(5.1%/6.4% freq) - again pretty good
33/33 percentile in putbacks (4.3/2.9 freq)
16th/97th percentile in miscellaneous (4.3%/2% freq) - this will come with team chemistry as well
So as you can see…. This is not a Harrison Barnes glorified role player we are talking here. This is quite possibly a 4th star the Warriors have just added. He is above average at most offensive measures.
But here is the point.
Steve Kerr had a plan, from day one when Wiggins landed at SFO. And it is becoming clear. Kerr and Myers recognized that:
#1: The Warriors are aging. And by the Warriors I mean Steph, Klay and Dray. They needed some young blood in the mix. Wiggins is still young but experienced. He is 25, but has played 6 seasons in the NBA. And he is entering his prime.
#2: Draymond is not a scorer. Steph and Klay both cannot attack the rim like they used to (and it is not like they were elite at that either). That was never their style. But what that means is the Warriors are predictable… defenses now know what to expect. By getting rid of a redundant shooter like DLo, and bringing Wiggins, as you can see arguably an elite rim attacker in the NBA right now, they have already essentially made Steph and Klay better. Under is an article that shows the gravity that Wiggins has when crashing the rim on a drive. It is going to be a massive help for Steph and Klay to have a drive and kick partner like Wiggins, and Wiggins will in turn be helped by their spacing and shooting as well.
https://zonecoverage.com/2019/featured/point-andrew-wiggins-expands-timberwolves-identity/
#3: Defense. It is hard to find. Steph was not a very good defender to start with. Klay’s ACL will rob him of his lateral movement which is going to impact him way more defensively than offensively. And Dray can only do so much. Enter Andrew Wiggins, who in his 1st game as a Warrior had 5 steals while guarding LeBron James. Here is a guy who may not have put it together off-ball, but on-ball is more than a capable defender. There are plenty of clips where you can see Wiggins on-ball defense is very good. It depends on his engagement off ball, and who better than one of the best defenders and highest BBIQ in the game, Draymond Green, to help with that. Kerr knows with Wiggins skillset and physical tools that he can turn him back into the defensive stopper he was considered to be in college.
What Kerr did, was instead of trading for someone who already is a good defender, he traded for one who can be a great defender. And one with a lot of switching potential too. 6 foot 8 inches, 7 foot wingspan, nuclear athleticism, and great feet movement is a scary combo. This guy can be terrible off ball and then mirror Harden, CP3, or Westbrook in his sleep.
https://hoopshabit.com/2018/08/17/issue-andrew-wiggins-hes-good-basketball/
The conclusion of this is… Wiggins is not the Harrison Barnes type guy a lot of people think he is. He is more right now, and is capable of much more in the future. With Klay’s injury there is no telling how consistent the Warriors scoring will be next season outside of Steph. In comes Wiggins, a guy who can drop 20 in his sleep. A guy who brings something different to the table, a big wing who is statistically one of the best drivers in the NBA and who can score in a variety of different ways. A guy with all the defensive potential in the world, and flashes of play to back it up. A guy who is coming from the worst team in the NBA since 2000, and maybe the worst team in terms of developing talent. I think Wiggins is really going to shock people next season, simply off the environment alone here. Let’s not forget, since high school Wiggins has had zero continuity coaching wise:
One and done in college… Flip Saunders his rookie year… Sam Mitchell his sophomore year (Mitchell actually told Wiggins to not dunk as much and as violently to preserve his body)… Thibodeau for 3 years (he brought in Butler, relegated Wiggins to the 4th option behind Butler, Towns, and Teague)… then Ryan Saunders for a year and half
Really the only question with Wiggins is can he back it up? Consistency is the name of the game, so we shall see. Can he back up his contract? Because, the main reason Wiggins if he is traded and does not stay with the Warriors will be his contract. That is the part that hurts about Wiggins.
But yeah, that is gonna wrap it up. What do you think? I'd appreciate any commentary, negative or positive.

Fed Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will be in the spotlight next week when the Federal Open Market Committee meets on June 9-10. Powell is expected to face questions on the central bank's role in the economic recovery and what tools are still available to use. The question is are they going to do more things around what they do in terms of forward guidance and next steps of macro easing," previews Bank of America economist Ethan Harris. On the economic front, reports on consumer prices, producer prices and consumer sentiment will be watched closely. The weekly jobless claims numbers due out on June 11 will be crucial for sentiment after May’s employment report showed a surprising record gain of 2.5M jobs. Eating out: The week ahead will see the eat-at-home vs. restaurants trade be hashed around again. Nielsen data could show a deceleration in the stockpiling benefits for Campbell Soup (NYSE:CPB), J.M. Smucker (NYSE:SJM), B&G Foods (NYSE:BGS), Blue Apron (NYSE:APRN), Hain Celestial (NASDAQ:HAIN) and General Mills (NYSE:GIS) - while restaurant stocks like Cracker Barrel (NASDAQ:CBRL), Denny's (NASDAQ:DENN), Dine Brands Global (NYSE:DIN), Brinker International (NYSE:EAT) and Red Robin Gourmet Burgers (RRGB) will look to scrap back from their YTD losses with more people eating out.
Notable annual meetings: GameStop may generate the most drama of the annual meetings next week with the company's board up for re-election. Two proxy firms are backing candidates from stakeholders Hestia Capital and Permit Capital for board inclusion, while Michael Burry's Scion Asset management is voting in favor of the board's slate. The annual shareholder meeting arrives with shares of GameStop down 32% YTD. Other annual meetings to watch this week include MercadoLibre (NASDAQ:MELI), SeaWorld Entertainment (NYSE:SEAS), Shake Shack (NYSE:SHAK), Target (NYSE:TGT), Wingstop (NASDAQ:WING), TJX Companies (NYSE:TJX), Mattel (NASDAQ:MAT), Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), Best Buy (NYSE:BBY) and Dollar Tree (NASDAQ:DLTR).

Holdings include DraftKings (NASDAQ:DKNG), Flutter Entertainment (OTCPK:PDYPY), Penn National Gaming (NASDAQ:PENN), William Hill (OTCPK:WIMHF), Scientific Games (NASDAQ:SGMS), GAN (NASDAQ:GAN), Churchill Downs (NASDAQ:CHDN) and PointsBet (OTCQX:PBTHF).
Barron's mentions: Twitter (NYSE:TWTR) makes the cover this week with the company in the middle of the political firestorm. For investors, the bigger issue than the culture debate is that the stock is valued at a sales multiple lower than social media peers. Food suppliers Sysco (NYSE:SYY), US Food Holdings (NYSE:USFD) and Performance Food Group (NYSE:PFGC) are recommended with sales volume slowly recovering. The publication notes that large investors like KKR and Trian Fund Management are taking an interest in the sector. There is also a reminder that COVID-19 drug trials are progressing. Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY) is testing its antibody in a Phase 1 trial. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:REGN) is also set to begin testing this month, while a collaboration between Vir Biotechnology (NASDAQ:VIR) and GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK) will begin trials later this summer. If the trial results are positive and the pandemic remains intense, emergency authorization of some of the drugs could follow.

2020.05.30 14:43 VentiBlkBiDepresso TIFU By Shooting My Idealic Relationship between the eyes

Not sure where to start but I feel like I deserve to be told how much an idiot I am. I’m a woman in her mid 20’s who’s been with basically man of my dreams for the past 2yrs. He’s a few years older than me but our life goals, escape the city, buy land, small homesteading and all that jazz. Our stances on topics we both find important have always been close or at least parallel. And the overall majority of what’s good is actually pretty fantastic. He’s had someone to listen to his “if I wrote Superman” rants or how he would have improved the plot of a movie and as grossly mushy as it sounds I was genuinely happy just to be around him and listen. He never took advantage of me being so enamored he never used me at all, which had been an unfortunate reoccurring issue in past relationships and just dating.... the issue was my own insecurity.
I knew he had to feel the same about me as I felt about myself in the relationship. I felt like I was slowing him down and that I just didn’t have as much going on in my life to be able to be a solid partner for the things we both wanted out of life. Not that I couldn’t be but that I just wasn’t “something” enough yet. It’s a case of imposter syndrome but for your relationship. The deep fear that I just wasn’t enough for the relationship caused me to “hold onto him” so tightly I started to hurt him.
On a drunk night after what we both thought was just kinda a spat I thought he was breaking up with me. Shocked, thinking this small spat of all things is going to be the thing that kills the relationship I’m obviously distraught. This is what I clearly remember: I sobbed with the ugly face for 10minutes or so, feeling wave of sadness crash after wave of drunken confusion after wave of sadness. He rings the bell and comes up and consoles me.
Ive since learned that on that night when he came and consoled, with thumb and index fingers very close, I said something along the lines of “I was so fucking close” or “I was this fucking close” and that traumatized him. And it’s 100% my fault. I probably did feel like dying, as a depressed person that’s a common feeling. But in my drunken sadness, I lost the tact that people are suppose to have when dealing with heavy emotions.... I know I want to vent dark and sad things that I may not even mean just so that the thoughts are circling my mind... but I also know you’re not suppose to spring your darkest, heaviest, fleeting fucking thoughts onto someone with almost no personal experience with someone depressed. I can tell my depressed homies “I wanna fucking die. The light so faint yada yada” and the depressed homie typically responds with “yeah, been there. But how do you actually feel”? Bc we know we don’t actually want to die. Life is just hard and sucks. But someone who’s not familiar..... I shouldn’t have said it. Especially knowing that I’ve spent years navigating deep sadness and would have been fucking fine.
I didn’t know how badly that night and those words hurt him until yesterday morning. Almost a year after if happened. And moments after knowing that up until very recently he still had a plan for the two of us. Since learning this I’m done with alcohol considering how much more difficult navigating important moment were with alcohol in my system.
Don’t be me. If you’re depressed, get help and really think about relationships. Don’t have the person of yours dreams enter your life just to be too angry and sad with yourself to do things properly. Don’t be VentiBlkDepresso
TL;DR TIFU by being a depressed duck who drank too much and misunderstood important moments and inadvertently caused my partner to think I would kill myself if he left which obviously drove a wedge between us. Get help if you’re depressed. I don’t think I care to love again considering what I’ve done to the man who had my whole heart... I don’t deserve it. Be better than me
